Our Donors

Our donors constitute the broader Memon community.

It is the combination of large and small donations that ensure the continuity of our organization and the achievement of our objectives.

Remember every cent collected counts. It is not the value of the donation but the intention with which it is given that makes all the difference.

See The Difference Between Lilah & Zakaat

Operational Costs

The Association has only TWO paid officials. The balance of the Executive Committee and Regional Members do the work on a voluntary basis. This is an initiative we should all be proud of. Our operational costs are kept to a minimum and are paid from Lillah, Administration and Membership Fees.

Please note that NO Zakaat Funds are used to pay for any operational expenses. 100% of your Zakaat contribution goes towards paying students’ fees.

Tax Deduction

Donations to the Association are tax deductible up to a certain amount.

At your request, we can issue you with a SECTION 18A TAX RECEIPT for the amount of your donation to enable you to claim the deduction from your taxable income.

Direct Deposit

Traditionally, our Executive members go out during Ramadan to collect contributions from our members.

To assist members to contribute directly and also reduce the risk of carrying cash, we encourage members to pay their contributions by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), if possible. Our Executive members will, however, continue to make collections and visits during Ramadan as before.
